'Ways of Seeing' at The Old Fire Station
Produced following a six week exploration of the subject of Disability, this exhibition showcased original works by I N K Oxford artists, developed in collaboration with printmaker Julia Utreras.
The work touches upon the idea of ‘perception’ both in art and around ideas of the sociocultural understanding of disability. Inspired by John Bergers book ‘Ways of Seeing,’ the images created from this project respond to themes such as ableism politics, privilege, class, capitalism and gender, all of which are sadly very much still relevant today. The project has been times to celebrate the discussion around disability in the lead up to the ROAR Inclusive Arts Festival.
